I am attracted to materials with past lives and organic media. I turn to nature for inspiration and use basic techniques, like sewing, weaving and assembly, for maximum flexibility.
In elevating the mundane and exploring cast-off materials, I seek a sustainable, grounding artistic practice; the creative process becomes a means for pause, nourishment, and meaning making.
From my studio in Charlottesville, VA, the simple everyday furnishes points of departure and conversation as art becomes a means of holding memory, metabolizing change and practicing presence.
