I am attracted to materials with past lives and favor organic media, turning to nature for inspiration. I use basic techniques which allow maximum flexibility.
In elevating the mundane and exploring cast-off materials, I find equilibrium and balance. I seek a sustainable, grounding artistic practice; the creative process becomes a means for pause, for nourishment, and for meaning making.
From my studio in Charlottesville, VA, matters and material of the simple everyday furnish a point of both departure and conversation, emerging transmuted into visual celebrations and forms of devotion.
